Kids Bathroom Reveal

Disclosure: This post may contain affiliate links. As an Amazon Associate, I earn from qualifying purchases at no additional cost to you.

I’m so excited to finally reveal the kids’ bathroom renovation!  This project was a long time in the making.  It was the last room in our house that needed an overhaul, so I had a lot of time to save inspiration.  I couldn’t be happier with how it came out!

For the wallpaper we chose a Pergola Wallpaper from Anthropologie.  We actually purchased this wallpaper months before our project started.  It was the inspiration for the entire bathroom.  I love that it has a coastal feel but still has a classic look.  My goal for this project was to mix classic, vintage and modern pieces.  The vintage feel of the wallpaper, faucet and sconce work so well with the clean lines of the vanity mirror and tub.  The brass outlet covers were a last minute find on Amazon and they’re the perfect final touch!

When I came across this vanity from Willow Bath and Vanity, I knew it would be perfect for our renovation.  I love the reeded detail on the front and the knobs are a perfect vintage touch!

For the floors, we chose a white penny tile from Lowe’s. The grout we used throughout the entire bathroom is called Silver Shadow by Laticrete.

One decision that took me the longest was what to hang on the wall above the toilet.  Since the vanity mirror is rectangular in shape, I wanted to add some dimension and add in a different shape.  So even though the wall shelves are linear, they are stacked in different sizes which helps to draw your eye up.

The shower consists of a classic 3×6 white subway tile  from Lowe’s.  I didn’t want to take away from the gorgeous wallpaper, so decided to keep the shower tile simple. The shower curtain and curtain rod are linked here.

I just love these hooks from Anthropologie.  I wanted some black accents in the room to tie in with the black door knobs and these were perfect!  The towels from Pottery Barn are the best!  I love how they have loops for easy hanging.  If you have kids you know towels usually end up on the floor, but not with these!

My 5 Favorite Amazon Finds

One of my favorite kitchen essentials are these glass oil dispensers!  They come in a set of two along with labels!  You can choose from so many including;  extra virgin olive oil, red wine vinegar, and more.  These look amazing on the kitchen counter and can turn an average kitchen into a more beautiful space. With transforming a home, it isn’t about changing everything all at once. It is about slowly integrating new elevated items into the room.  This is when you will start to see what works and what doesn’t with your personal style.

This egg tray is such a game changer!  I love not having to take out the entire carton of eggs every time I want to bake or make an omelet.  After you select an egg from the fron,t the entire row moves forward!  We go through so many eggs in our house, with two boys who eat bacon, egg and cheese sandwiches on a daily basis!

Another favorite Amazon purchase is this rechargeable fabric shaver.  Although, I typically use this on our sofa it is also safe for sweaters, blankets and even carpets!  I couldn’t believe how quickly it brought our sofa back to life.  After 10 minutes of using this gadget our sofa looks brand new!

One of my all time bestsellers are these gorgeous drapes by TWOPAGES Curtains.  I have these curtains all throughout my home and love them all so much!  Their curtains are completely custom – you can choose the exact size (height and width), as well as the lining and header.  They come unlined, with a privacy liner and a room darkening liner.  All at a fraction of the price you would pay for custom drapes elsewhere.

Last but not least.. my favorite pillow inserts!  These are the best I’ve ever found.  They are so soft and plush and make the perfect chop! You can put covers on them to match your style while having the coziest and plushest feel! I love these because you can change the covers for the seasons or change your style completely, without having to buy new accent pillows.

Design Tips for Mixing Metals in the Bathroom

Is it OK to Mix Metals in a Bathroom?

Gone are the days of having to choose one metal finish for your entire home.  It’s now very common to mix and match metal finishes–not only in the bathroom, but throughout the home. Mixing metals in the bathroom can add visual interest and create a unique and stylish look. Here are some design tips to help you successfully combine different metal finishes in your bathroom.

Vase | Vanity Mirror | Sconces | Cabinet Hardware | Bath Essentials

Choose a Dominant Metal

Start by selecting a dominant metal that will serve as the primary finish in your bathroom. This metal will be the most prominent and should be used for larger fixtures like faucets, showerheads, or lighting. Consider the overall style and color scheme of your bathroom when choosing the dominant metal. While mixing metals is ideal for adding interest, I would recommend selecting no more than three metal finishes for one room.

I also think it’s a good idea to stick with timeless finishes like chrome, polished nickel, and brass for permanent fixtures like faucets, shower heads, and lighting.

Stool | Vanity | Mirror | Sconce | Planter | Cabinet Hardware

Select a Secondary Metal

Once you have chosen your dominant metal, select a secondary metal to complement it. This metal should be used for smaller accessories and accents like cabinet hardware, towel bars, or mirrors. The secondary metal should harmonize with the dominant metal but offer a contrasting or complementary finish.

Consider Warm and Cool Tones

Pay attention to the warm or cool tones of the metals you are mixing. Warm-toned metals include brass, copper and oil-ribbed bronze. Cool-toned metals include chrome, polished nickel and brushed nickel. Black is considered a neutral metal and makes a great third metal to add to any space.

Just about anything goes, but there are a few mixed metal bathroom combinations that are a match made in heaven. One of my absolute favorite pairings is brass and polished nickel. Compared to chrome, polished nickel has a warm undertone and it looks stunning with brass.

If you prefer the crisp look of chrome, I recommend using matte black as the coordinating metal. Although I do have brass and chrome mixed together in our powder room, I prefer the look of brass with polished nickel. Either way, you can’t go wrong!

Balance the Distribution

Distribute the different metal finishes evenly throughout the space to create a cohesive look. Avoid clustering all the fixtures or accessories of one metal finish in a single area. Instead, spread them out to achieve a balanced and intentional mix. Be sure not to mix metals in the same color family. For example, chrome and polished nickel are both silver, however, chrome has a cool undertone in comparison to warmer polished nickel. This partnership highlights their differences and they end up clashing. There are ways to balance the undertones in a room, but this is not one of them.

I also advise against mixing metals with different finishes, such as brushed and polished nickel. You wouldn’t want to use these together but each work well with brass or matte black.

Are Brass Finishes Still in Style?

While chrome and polished nickel bathroom fixtures are trending for 2023, brass–especially antique brass–is still in style, adding a luxurious touch to any room.

Brass works well in both warm and white spaces as well as rooms with darker tones. Use brass when you want your eye to be drawn to the fixture or metal finish.

In general, brass finishes are becoming more subtle and toned down, with more of an antique or aged deep golden look, rather than yellow, pink or shiny finishes.

Consider the Overall Style

Keep in mind the overall style and aesthetic of your bathroom when mixing metals. Different metal finishes can evoke different moods and styles. For example, polished chrome and matte black can create a sleek and modern look, while brass and polished nickel can add a vintage or traditional touch.

Remember, mixing metals in the bathroom is an opportunity to showcase your personal style and create a unique and customized space. Trust your instincts and have fun experimenting with different combinations. With careful consideration and a thoughtful approach, you can achieve a stunning and harmonious mix of metals in your bathroom design.

5 Ways to Style a Big Blank Wall

Disclosure: This post may contain affiliate links. As an Amazon Associate, I earn from qualifying purchases at no additional cost to you.

Transform a big blank wall into a stunning focal point with these creative styling ideas! I’ve learned that filling blank walls is about more than hanging a piece of artwork. Creating balance is key, and it’s much more straightforward once you have a few tricks up your sleeve. Whether you’re working with an open-concept space with long, big blank walls or you’re looking to bring more dimension to a single room, these tips are sure to bring you some inspiration.

Gallery Wall

Create a captivating gallery wall by arranging a collection of artwork, photographs, or even mirrors. Mix and match different sizes, frames, and styles to add visual interest. You can create a symmetrical arrangement or go for an eclectic mix of pieces. Play with spacing and layout until you achieve a balanced and visually appealing display. You can also create a display with all the same size frames to create a grand appearance. In our living room we added a gallery wall with six family photos. Each Pottery Barn frame is 25”x25” with a 8×10 opening. I love the statement they make in this space!

Statement Art Piece

Make a bold statement by hanging a large, eye-catching art piece on your blank wall. Choose a painting, print, or tapestry that reflects your personal style and complements your overall décor. A single statement piece can instantly transform the space and become a conversation starter. In our bedroom, we have this incredible coastal piece from Homegoods. I can’t even begin to tell you how many people have asked where I purchased this wall art.

Wall Molding or Wallpaper

Consider adding wall molding or wallpaper to create a captivating backdrop. Choose a design that suits your style, whether it’s a nature-inspired mural, a geometric pattern, or a textured wallpaper. This can instantly transform the blank wall into a work of art and add a unique touch to your space. In our bedroom we added vertical shiplap for some texture and visual interest. This is also a great way to make your room look custom!

Floating Shelves and Art Display

Install floating shelves in a staggered or symmetrical arrangement and use them to display a mix of artwork, framed photographs, and decorative objects. This creates a dynamic and visually appealing display while also providing functional storage space. When you have multiple spaces for art, change up your scale, so each art grouping doesn’t compete with another. If you fill one wall with oversized artwork, then consider using a group of smaller pieces or a gallery wall elsewhere to avoid too much of the same shape.

Mirrors

Hang a large mirror on the blank wall to create the illusion of more space and reflect light. Mirrors not only add a decorative element but also make the room feel brighter and more open. Choose a statement mirror with an beautiful frame or create a collage of smaller mirrors for a unique look. In our home, we have a large arched floor mirror in our bedroom and an oversized mirror above the console in our entryway. Even though both mirrors are different styles they help make each room feel so much larger.

Remember, styling a big blank wall is an opportunity to showcase your creativity and personal style. Experiment with different ideas, mix and match elements, and don’t be afraid to think outside the box. Let your imagination soar and transform that blank wall into a stunning feature in your space!

Simple Tips for Decorating with Coffee Table Books

Elevate your coffee table décor with these simple tips for decorating with coffee table books!

Choose Books with Meaning

Select coffee table books that reflect your interests, hobbies, or passions. Whether it’s art, fashion, travel, or photography, choose books that resonate with you and spark conversation. This personal touch adds a unique and meaningful element to your coffee table décor.

On the coffee table, I love incorporating books in unexpected ways to tell the story of the space and the people living in it. Try creating groupings of them in stacks to center a long rectangular table, using them to bring height to decorative objects, or even leaving them open to a page that speaks to you.

Use as Decorative Platforms

Coffee table books can serve as decorative platforms for other items. Place a small vase of fresh flowers, a decorative object, or a scented candle on top of a stack of books. This adds height and visual interest to your coffee table arrangement.

On the nightstand, stacked coffee table books are a great way to bring interest to a bottom shelf or, if you have enough space, next to a lamp with a candle on top to switch up the levels.

Stack and Layer

Create visual interest by stacking and layering your coffee table books. Place larger books at the bottom and gradually stack smaller ones on top. You can also experiment with different orientations, such as stacking books horizontally or vertically, to add variety and dimension.

Try introducing an element of personality to your dresser with coffee table books by stacking them or styling them alone to elevate your personal items.

Color Coordination

Consider the color palette of your space when selecting coffee table books. Choose books that complement or contrast with your existing decor. You can create a cohesive look by selecting books with covers that match your color scheme or opt for a bold pop of color to make a statement.

While you may not think about styling books in the kitchen, it can be a great way to soften the space and make it feel more conversational. Style your favorite cookbooks on open shelving or leaning in a corner for easy access to all your favorite recipes.

Showcase Book Covers

Display coffee table books with visually appealing covers. Arrange them with the covers facing outward to showcase their beautiful designs. This not only adds a decorative element but also makes it easy to grab a book and flip through its pages.

Coffee tables aren’t the only place you can style books in the living room. I love using coffee table books on side tables for easy flipping-through access or tucked under a candle or vase for added height.

Rotate and Refresh

Keep your coffee table décor fresh by periodically rotating the books on display. Swap out books seasonally or whenever you feel like a change. This allows you to showcase different books and keep your coffee table décor interesting and engaging.

An entryway is a perfect place to introduce your style that continues throughout the rest of the space, and expressional coffee table books are an easy way to showcase what you love. Almost all of my books are design focused since that is my love, so just be sure to incorporate books that bring attention to your favorite interests or hobbies.

Remember, coffee table books are not just for reading but also for adding style and personality to your space. Use these simple tips to create a visually appealing and curated coffee table display that reflects your interests and enhances your overall decor.

Master the Art of Styling Throw Pillows with these Essential Tips and Tricks!

One of the most common questions I receive is “How do I style my throw pillows?”. It can seem a bit daunting when you are trying to choose from what seems like infinite pillow patterns, insert options, fabrics and sizes. So let’s dive into some simple formulas for styling throw pillows and where to find beautiful pillow options for every budget. There are so many ways you can mix and match throw pillows, but these are my go-to design tips that keep it simple!

Rug | Coffee Table | Tulips | Lamp | Curtains | Sofa

Mix and Match

Don’t be afraid to mix different patterns, textures, and sizes when it comes to throw pillows. Combining different elements adds visual interest and depth to your space. Play with a variety of colors and patterns that complement your overall décor.

Be sure not to limit yourself to just the sofa! Place throw pillows on chairs, benches, or even on the bed to create a cohesive and inviting look throughout your space. Mix and match pillow placements to create a visually appealing arrangement.

Choosing a Pillow Insert

When you are shopping for pillows the inserts are KEY! If you buy quality inserts your pillows will look high-end even if the covers are a budget find. If you put cheap inserts in even the most expensive pillow cover they won’t look as good.

Feather pillows can have a nice luxe feel, but they aren’t always the best choice. If you are allergic to feathers, or you have concerns about how feathers are sourced, there are some really great polyester-filled pillow inserts that are just as comfy! My favorite pillow inserts are polyester-filled from Amazon.

Layering

Layering is key to creating a cozy and inviting look. Start with larger pillows at the back, then add medium-sized ones in front, and finish with smaller accent pillows. This layering technique adds dimension and creates a plush, luxurious feel. There are so many sizes of pillows to choose from, but I find myself coming back to this favorite combination for sofas every time:

The trick: Use 20″ pillows and larger (with the exception of lumbar pillows) to get that designer, high-end look.

  • 2 x 22″ square pillows

  • 2 x 20″ square pillows

  • 1 x 12″x20″ lumbar pillow

Texture Play

Incorporate different textures to add depth and tactile interest. Mix smooth velvet with chunky knits, or pair a faux fur pillow with a woven one. The combination of textures adds visual and sensory appeal to your seating area. As you choose different patterns to combine, you will naturally end up with different textures. But you can pay attention to the details to make sure you add lots of variety to your mix.

The more varying textures the better. Even if you have pillows of similar colors or patterns, texture can set them apart.

For example, the floral pillow is a cotton blend, so I chose linen for the plain beige pillow. The contrasting textures add more interest than if they were both made of cotton.

Color Coordination

Consider the color scheme of your room when selecting throw pillows. Choose pillows that complement or contrast with your existing furniture and décor. You can opt for pillows that match your color palette or use them as an opportunity to introduce pops of color.

Choose a color scheme first so you can narrow down what you are searching for when you are shopping. I like to choose two colors max and mix them in with some neutrals. It’s also ok if none of your pillows match. If you want to create a very formal look you can put two matching pillows on either end of a couch. But I prefer to mix up the patterns to keep it feeling casual and comfortable.

Size Matters

Vary the sizes of your throw pillows to create visual intrigue. Combine larger square pillows with smaller rectangular or round ones. This mix of sizes adds visual interest and creates a more dynamic and inviting seating area. As a general rule, you want to buy an insert that is one size larger than your pillow cover to make sure you end up with a nice plush cushion. For example, for a 20″ square pillow you may want to try a 22″ square insert.

Remember, styling throw pillows is all about expressing your personal style and creating a comfortable and inviting space. Have fun experimenting with different combinations and arrangements to find the perfect look for your home!

5 Reasons Why an Upholstered Bed is the Right Choice

Disclosure: This post may contain affiliate links. As an Amazon Associate, I earn from qualifying purchases at no additional cost to you.

It’s likely that while scrolling through interior design inspiration on Pinterest or flipping through your favorite home magazine, you’ve noticed how some of the most beautiful bedrooms feature an upholstered bed. When creating a dreamy bedroom with a high-end feel, an upholstered bed is an excellent choice. Often times, regardless of your budget there will be an upholstered bed that will work for you!

Upholstered beds exude a sense of elegance and sophistication. With a wide range of fabric options available, you can choose a color and texture that complements your bedroom décor. Whether you prefer a classic tufted design or a sleek and modern look, an upholstered bed adds a touch of luxury to any space.

In case you hadn’t heard the news, the days of buying full sets of furniture are gone! Today, I’m going to share all the reasons why I love having an upholstered bed and why it’s a number one best seller month after month!

Avoids the matching furniture problem

Think about those bedroom sets you (or your parents) had over the years. The bed, nightstands, and dressers all matched and while it seemed nice at the time, it lacked the dimension and character you see in today’s designs. Matching furniture sets lack qualities such as; texture, layers and visual interest. All things you don’t get from matching furniture.

One of the best features of an upholstered bed is that it can be easily paired with other pieces. Mixing and matching wood tones can be problematic because of all the stain options available. Similar to lighting fixtures, hunting for matching tones across different brands usually leads to frustration and disappointment. Fabric is the ultimate solution for that dilemma!

Luxurious Comfort

An upholstered bed offers a level of comfort that is unmatched. The padded headboard provides a soft and cozy surface to lean against while reading or watching TV in bed. The upholstered frame also adds an extra layer of cushioning, making your bed a haven of relaxation. However, I suggest using a barrier, like pillows, to minimize contact with the fabric. Just like the seating in your home, you run the risk of color transfer from clothing or hair products.

Versatile Design

One of the best features of an upholstered bed is that it can be easily paired with other pieces. Mixing and matching wood tones can be problematic because of all the stain options available. Similar to cabinet hardware.

One of the greatest advantages of an upholstered bed is its versatility. It can seamlessly blend into various interior styles, from traditional to contemporary. Whether you prefer a neutral fabric or a bold pattern, an upholstered bed can be customized to match your personal taste and create a focal point in your bedroom.

They’ll Add a Personal Touch

With all this in mind, it’s no surprise that an upholstered bed often becomes the conversation-starting piece of the bedroom. As the focal point of your space – whether it’s a queen bed in your master, or dual twin beds in your kids’ room – the options to make your bed truly feel like you are endless. Of all places, your bedroom should be your personal sanctuary, and your furniture choices, from the styling of the fabric to the frame, should feel uniquely yours.

Upkeep is Manageable

For beds with a fabric surface, you’ll need to do a routine cleaning just like any upholstered furniture in your home. Regular vacuuming or rolling with a lint brush will help keep the material from collecting dust. Fabric with a heavy texture is more likely to trap dust, so consider that during the selection process if you are prone to allergies.

Investing in an upholstered bed is a decision that combines both style and functionality. Experience the ultimate comfort, elegance, and versatility that an upholstered bed brings to your bedroom. Sweet dreams await!

How to Style a Console Table

Disclosure: This post may contain affiliate links. As an Amazon Associate, I earn from qualifying purchases at no additional cost to you.

Often times a console table is the first impression as you enter a home. Console tables can be beautiful and functional pieces of furniture in your home. They work well in narrow spaces, and come in every different width, height, and style, so you can always find one to suit your needs. Whether you’re using one in an entryway as I often do, or in a main living space, there are a few key styling elements we love to use on a console table. In today’s blog post, I’ll be sharing tips for how to style a console table.

Ground The Bottom

When I’m styling open consoles, I like to ground the bottom with more substantial items to balance visual weight. Baskets are a great go-to because they bring extra storage for shoes while simultaneously adding great textural detail. To make things more interesting, try styling larger, shapely pieces like vases or even stacked coffee table books.

As a rule of thumb, make sure whatever items you style on the bottom are tall enough to leave only a small space between them and the top of the console.

Keep it Simple

When I style console tables, I love to keep things simple! A few key styling elements are all you need to make a statement in your entryway or living space. In real life, console tables tend to get cluttered when keys, mail, and other day-to-day objects get dropped off on their way in and out of the house. To combat this, and to have a surface available when you need one, leave some empty space on your console table when it comes to décor. Combine style with functionality by incorporating storage solutions into your console. Use decorative boxes or baskets to keep clutter at bay while adding a stylish touch. You can also use trays or bowls to organize keys, sunglasses, or other small essentials.

Go Oversized on Top

Opt for a large, oversized mirror or art piece to hang above your console table. The scale of the piece will help balance the scale of the table, and it adds a fun focal piece that draws your eye upwards. I always leave about 4-6’’‘ from the top of the console table to the bottom of the mirror or art piece. You also want to make sure the mirror or piece of art doesn’t overpower the furniture so it’s important to leave a few inches of space around the entire mirror/art.

Add Greenery

To add texture and warmth to your console table decor, always add a pop of greenery! Also, don’t be afraid to choose larger plants here. I love using greenery to add height to our console table too. For the winter months, I usually add faux stems and in the spring and summer I try to incorporate fresh greens from the yard.

Don’t Forget Lighting

A common mistake I see when it comes to styling a console table is missing lighting. In our décor combination below, I opted for a statement table lamp. Another option is to add sconces to highlight whatever art piece or mirror is hanging above the console table. If your table is in an entryway that has a statement chandelier, opt for a candle or second plant instead.

Remember, your console is a blank canvas waiting to be transformed into a stylish focal point. Experiment with different styles, textures, and objects to create a look that speaks to your personal taste. Have fun and let your personality shine!

Modern Coastal Decorating Ideas for Your Home

Disclosure: This post may contain affiliate links. As an Amazon Associate, I earn from qualifying purchases at no additional cost to you.

Recently, I realized that since I started adding a touch of modern coastal decor to our home, I don’t need to do a lot of seasonal decorating. By sticking with a color scheme that reflects the ocean and sky–including crisp whites, deep blues and neutral hues–everything seems to work together, no matter what time of year it is! With fall right around the corner, I plan to include heavier texture fabrics with some darker accents to embrace the cooler months ahead.

Because it’s based on natural elements, coastal décor never goes out of style.  As design styles and trends change, coastal style can easily evolve and adapt–for example, incorporating lighter wood tones rather than dark, or featuring softer neutral hues rather than bright colors.

Looking to bring a touch of seaside serenity to your living space? Look no further! I’ve got some fantastic modern coastal decorating ideas that will make your home feel like a beachside retreat.

Embrace the Soothing Color Palette

Opt for soft blues, sandy neutrals, and crisp whites to create a calming coastal vibe. These colors will instantly transport you to the shores, making your home feel like a tranquil oasis. My home is filled with neutrals with lots of texture. The majority of our walls are Sherwin Williams Pure White or Benjamin Moore Classic Gray. Both paint colors are perfect for a modern coastal vibe. I love to keep main furniture pieces neutral while adding color with throw pills, rugs and home decor.

Incorporate Natural Elements

Bring the outdoors in by incorporating natural materials like rattan, jute, and driftwood. These textures add a touch of coastal charm and create a relaxed atmosphere. One of my favorite ways to incorporate these elements into a modern coastal design is with wool/jute rug combinations. These rugs are the best of both worlds by combining the textured look of jute with the softness of wool.

Light and Airy Fabrics

Opt for light and breezy fabrics like linen or cotton to create an airy feel. Sheer curtains, flowy drapes, and lightweight throws will let the natural light in and give your home a fresh, beachy ambiance. Linen bedding is a great way to achieve a modern coastal look in the bedroom.

Coastal-inspired Artwork

Hang up some coastal-inspired artwork featuring seascapes, beach scenes, or neutral abstract art . These pieces will transport you to the ocean’s edge and add a splash of color to your walls. We have many coastal art pieces all throughout our home. One of my absolute favorite designers for coastal art is Deb Presutto Art.

Indoor Greenery

Bring the coastal landscape indoors with some lush green plants. Not only do they purify the air, but they also create a tropical ambiance that complements the coastal theme perfectly. As much as I love real plants, I’m not the best at keeping them alive. We have many faux ferns in our home which look amazing and are perfect to achieve that modern coastal look.

Implementing the Modern Coastal Vibe

Some things to avoid overdoing in a modern coastal or beach themed home include signs, rope accents, anchors, nautical themes, ocean waves, and lobster, crab, sea urchin, and starfish motifs.

For a modern coastal look, start with a background of white walls, as well as soft natural colors of the sand and sky, and crisp, casual fabrics like cotton and linen.  Then add in some natural materials, including lots of baskets, light woods, and lovely textures through rugs, throw pillows, and throw blankets.

Remember, modern coastal decorating is all about creating a relaxed and inviting space that reflects the beauty of the seaside. So, let your imagination run wild and infuse your home with the uplifting vibes of the coast!

Sherwin William Pure White: Paint Color Review

Disclosure: This post may contain affiliate links. As an Amazon Associate, I earn from qualifying purchases at no additional cost to you.

Sherwin Williams Pure White is a popular paint color known for its clean, bright, and timeless appeal. It’s a versatile color that can be used in a variety of settings, from modern to traditional interiors. In this post, I will delve into a comprehensive review of Sherwin Williams Pure White, looking at its features, benefits, and potential drawbacks.

What Type of Paint Color is Sherwin Williams Pure White? Is it Warm or Cool?

Well, as you’ve probably figured out, Pure White is one of the most versatile, flexible and popular white paint colors on the market – but it’s not a true white, as it has a soft, passive warmth to it, without looking as creamy as some of the other whites. Pure White works well for walls, trims, cabinets and even exterior siding!

What is the LRV of Pure White?

Pure White has an LRV of 84, so it’s what I call a soft white – it’s not stark, but not overly creamy either.

What are the Undertones of Pure White?

Pure White has a soft warmth to it in the form of a tiny bit of black (which just softens it) and a drop of yellow which makes it slightly warm. But really, when I say slightly… it’s hardly noticeable.

And like any white, Pure White can easily pick up color from its surroundings, including greens outside if you have a lot of windows.

Pure White in a South Facing Room

South-facing light is warm and slightly yellow, which plays well into the subtle warmth of Pure White. We have Pure White in our kitchen and family room which are both south facing rooms. I love how this color creates a light and bright backdrop!

What’s the Best White Trim Color if Your Walls are Pure White?

if you want to see the warmth of Pure White, pair it with a clean white like Sherwin Williams High Reflective White. However, I personally prefer having my walls, cabinets and trim in the same white so I don’t need to worry about clashing undertones. This approach lets the change in sheen do the work for you without having to change colors. My favorite combo is to use matte on the walls, satin on the trim and flat on the ceiling.
